CHRIS WASHINGTON
Rising star Chris Washington is taking the comedy industry and audiences by storm. In 2017 Chris was working full time in Wigan as a postman when he used all his annual leave to take his debut show Dream Big (Within Reason) to the world’s biggest arts festival with no management or PR and came home with a sparkling nomination for the coveted lastminute.com Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer. A feel-good underdog story which he describes as getting five numbers and the bonus ball on the comedy lottery.

Likened to a “Peter Kay for the smart phone generation”, in 2018 Chris headlined his own episode of Live From The BBC which aired on BBC One and BBC Three and was the most viewed of the series. He also wrote and performed in four online sketches for BBC Three’s Quickies series, earning over 12 million views and quickly becoming some of their most successful of the series.
2019 saw Chris make his Australian debut, when he was invited to perform at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival as part of New Order. Following a smash hit run at the Edinburgh Fringe last August with his newest solo hour Raconteur (which was noted in the British Comedy Guide as one of the best reviewed shows of the Fringe), Chris supported both Jonathan Pie and Milton Jones on tour, and was invited back to Australia for Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Roadshow in 2020.
As a writer, Chris continues to develop a number of TV and radio projects, both solo and with his writing partner Paul Coleman, of the BAFTA award winning, Peter Kay's Car Share.
Most recently, Chris has made his debut appearance on Mock The Week for BBC Two and is the host of the brand new podcast for Global, Job's A Good'Un.
