Junior Comedy Promoter

Job Summary:
As a Junior Comedy Promoter (Touring), you will play a key role in organizing and promoting comedy tours. Working closely with senior promoters, venues, and comedians, you will assist in booking shows, coordinating logistics, and driving ticket sales. This role is ideal for someone passionate about live comedy, highly organized, and eager to develop a career in tour promotion.

Key Responsibilities:
Tour Booking & Coordination:
• Assist in securing venues for touring comedians across different locations.
• Coordinate with artists, agents, and venue managers to finalize tour schedules.
• Help negotiate deals with venues and ensure contract requirements are met.
• Maintain and update tour calendars with confirmed dates and logistics.
Marketing & Promotion:
• Assist in executing marketing campaigns to maximize ticket sales.
• Help create and distribute promotional materials (social media content, posters, email campaigns).
• Support digital advertising efforts, including social media ads and influencer partnerships.
• Liaise with local press and media outlets to secure coverage for touring shows.
Logistics & Event Management:
• Work with venues to arrange technical and hospitality requirements for touring comedians.
• Assist in managing travel, accommodation, and itineraries for performers.
• Ensure smooth on-the-day operations, from soundchecks to audience management.
• Help troubleshoot any logistical challenges that arise during the tour.
Ticketing & Sales Monitoring:
• Track ticket sales and report trends to senior promoters.
• Assist in adjusting promotional efforts based on ticket demand.
• Help coordinate guest lists and liaise with box office staff.
Networking & Industry Relationships:
• Build relationships with comedians, agents, venues, and industry professionals.
• Attend shows and networking events to discover emerging talent.
• Keep up to date with trends in the comedy touring industry.
Requirements:
Experience & Skills:
• Previous experience in live events, touring, or live entertainment at any level is essential
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of UK comedians and the UK circuit
• Basic editing skills and design for social media (photoshop/canva)
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Familiarity with social media marketing and digital promotions.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines
.
Personal Attributes:
• Passion for live comedy and the entertainment industry.
• Proactive, problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Comfortable traveling to different tour locations when required.
Technical Skills (Preferred):
• Experience with ticketing platforms (e.g., Eventbrite, Ticketmaster, See Tickets).
• Knowledge of digital marketing tools (Facebook Ads, Instagram, TikTok).
• Familiarity with tour budgeting and expense tracking.

Location:
This role is based in our Clerkenwell Office but will require some evenings and weekends at shows

Salaray:
£25K per annum

Edinburgh Fringe Street Team​
Job Summary:
IAM are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated and approachable individuals who are passionate about comedy, to join our Edinburgh Fringe street team between 28th July - 24th August.
​
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to take their first steps in the comedy industry, and it is a great way to experience Edinburgh Festival for both newcomers and seasoned fans alike!
​
You’ll be helping to drive sales for an amazing array of artists performing at the Fringe this year, and will be helping to promote our shows through flyering and chatting with festival-goers, to ultimately tell them why they should come to our shows, so you must be confident and willing to approach people.
​
This will be the perfect role for anyone who is confident, a strong communicator, highly self-motivated and able to meet targets.

This role is based in Edinburgh.​

Salary:
£14 per hour + bonuses
Venue passes where available
